NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department announced the arrest of a man accused of writing racially-charged graffiti at a park in November.
Police said Nuzhdar Hamdoun, 28, was arrested in connection with graffiti written in chalk on a basketball court at William A. Pitts Park in South Nashville three times in November.
The graffiti caused community concern, according to MNPD.
“Detectives used on-line resources to ultimately identify Hamdoun, who lives close to the park,” MNPD said. “During a conversation between detectives and Hamdoun at his residence today, he admitted to creating the graffiti. Used chalk was found in the back seat of his vehicle.”
He’s charged with vandalizing government property and was jailed on a $2,000 bond.
