TRIMBLE COUNTY, Ky. —
The former Trimble County sheriff accused of sexual abuse while on duty has taken a plea deal.
Charles Kelton turned himself in to the Oldham County Jail on Nov. 1 after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Court records say Kelton admitted to grabbing a woman's hips and pulling her against him after she rejected him "physically and verbally" on Feb. 21.
This also allegedly happened while Kelton was on duty in uniform and in the woman's office at the Trimble County Attorney's Office.
On Tuesday, Kelton pleaded guilty to harassment (no injury). The official misconduct charge against Kelton was dismissed.
He was sentenced to 45 days in jail, but he won't have to serve any time as long as he follows the court's condition for two years.
