In a rout.
The Cougars dominated Faith Lutheran, 42-23, to win the Class 5A State football championship on Tuesday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Spanish Springs ended its season at 13-0. Faith Lutheran ended at 6-8.
The Cougars jumped on the Crusaders early and didn't let up, building a 28-3 lead at halftime as Brady Hummel scored three times in the first half.
He ran for a score and caught two TD passes from Tyson McNeil, for 65- and 1-yard scores. Hummel finished with 10 catches for 205 yards.
McNeil was equally spectacular, completing 21-of-31 passes for 347 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions.
Fellow senior Cooper Milligan rushed 20 times for 96 yards for the Cougars
