With a defensive masterclass and another dominant day on the ground –– including a historic feat from quarterback Broc Lowry –– Western Michigan routed rival Eastern Michigan, 31-21, to secure its first trip to the Mid-American Conference championship game since 2016 at Rynearson Stadium on Tuesday.
The Broncos (8-4, 7-1) have won four consecutive games and will play in the MAC title game on Dec. 6 at Ford Field. WMU could play four possible opponents, which will be decided by Saturday’s games with several hectic tiebreakers in play.
