KALAMAZOO, MI –– Win, and the Broncos are in.
Lose, and things get tricky.
That’s what’s at stake for Western Michigan football on Tuesday, as the Broncos will put it all on the line in hopes of a victory against Eastern Michigan –– which would secure their first Mid-American Conference championship game since 2016.
WMU (7-4, 6-1) is in the first place driver’s seat of the MAC entering Tuesday’s season finale, but five of the conference’s 13 teams remain in the hunt for the MAC title game at Ford Field on Dec. 6.
Central Michigan, Toledo, Miami and Ohio are all 5-2 in conference play, which could create a wild outcome of tiebreaker scenarios pending on this week’s results. Four teams could go to tiebreakers by the end of the season, but WMU has the clearest path.
