The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department responded Tuesday afternoon to a fire at 2350 St. Stephens Road that engulfed Rodgers BBQ and another nearby shop.

The shop was fully involved as firefighters arrived on the scene, and it appeared the fire had spread to the restaurant.

Department of Public Safety public affairs manager Blake Brown said everyone in the restaurant made it out safely.

Traffic was stopped in the area.

There is no information on what started the fire.
