A 24-year-old Casa Grande man was arrested Saturday after police said he attacked his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, sending him to the hospital and causing more than $1,000 in property damage.

Brandon Waters was arrested shortly after 1:30 a.m. following a reported fight in the Alterra neighborhood. Officers say Waters drove to the location and began fighting with a man outside the home of Waters’s former girlfriend of eight years.

Investigators said Waters threw multiple punches, took the man to the ground and caused scratches, bruising and bleeding to the back of his head. The man’s gold chain, valued at about $1,200, was broken during the incident. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
