About 1,400 of Anne Rice’s most devoted fans assembled on Nov. 1 in New Orleans to bid a final farewell to the renowned horror novelist who died in 2021 . The Gothically costumed crowd filled the seats at the Orpheum Theater, where they witnessed a memorial presentation befitting a Crescent City icon.
In addition to impassioned speakers and performers, the memorial included segments from an unfinished documentary film based on Rice’s life. The clips were beautifully shot, intimate and telling. With added footage taken during the memorial ceremony, the documentary is now complete and will be streamed on the annerice.com website on Thanksgiving. The viewing is free.
