Chancellor Rachel Reeves presented her Autumn Budget in the Commons on Wednesday. The Chancellor's pivotal speech was thrown into disarray due to the Office for Budget Responsibility's (OBR) premature leak of the Budget .
Ms Reeves began by expressing her deep disappointment and labelled it a "serious error on their part", referring to the OBR. "We are rebuilding our economy," she declared.
Ms Reeves, a member of the Labour Party Cabinet, also criticised those who believe that the best thing the state can do is "get out of the way".
"Working people demanded and deserved change," she stated. "I said there would be no return to austerity and I meant it ... I said I would cut the cost of living and I meant it ... I said I would cut debt and borrowing and I meant it."
