More than 300 Queens residents received free turkeys or hot meals on Friday, November 21, during a Thanksgiving Community Giveaway at the Roy Wilkins Recreation Center in Jamaica, Queens. The event, organized by local community leaders in partnership with TUFF Active, the Southern Queens Park Association (SQPA), Modern Day Man, and the Black Lives Matter Foundation, brought together families, volunteers, and elected officials to support neighbors in need ahead of the holiday season. Leaders joined residents to celebrate the spirit of giving and address the economic challenges facing many households amid rising food costs.

The giveaway was part of a series of community led events held across the country this week to nourish families, promote wellness, and strengthen local support networks.
