LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) - A Phenix City man is in custody after allegedly hitting his 95-year-old mother.

70-year-old John Black was arrested on Nov. 25, two days after a Lee County Sheriff’s deputy talked with the mother, who they say had two black eyes and Band-Aids on her arms and legs.

Black is being held on a $30,000 bond in the county detention center for second-degree assault-elderly abuse.

Another son of the victim reported the assault to a deputy on patrol in the 9000 block of Lee Road 240 Nov. 23. However, the incident occurred in the 100 block of Lee Road 498.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, the woman was in a vehicle with the son making the report and said that Black, her other son, had struck her and this was not the first time.
