A ground-breaking national report has found that men frequently only turn to the NHS after their health has deteriorated considerably, with mental health emerging as a critical concern.

Medical professionals contend the evidence overlooked younger men most at risk, whilst existing interventions were not included in the strategy.

The Department of Health and Social Care on November 19 released a new report entitled "Men's health: a strategic vision for England", drawing on 6,591 submissions collected during a 12-week evidence gathering exercise that began in April 2025.
