GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The parent drop-off line at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science is even busier this holiday season.
"We haven't really done Toys for Tots for a bigger community yet," said Yaiza Ayala, Vice President of Student Council.
The scene outside the school is drawing more attention, as members of the student council stand alongside the drop-off line curb before the first bell, reminding families about Toys for Tots.
"We've always done it internally for our school community and I think it was really important for us to kind of branch out and give that joy of Christmas to other kids who aren't in our community," she said.
The president of the student council, Yazmeen, says she's really happy the school is participating this year.
