ATLANTA ( ANF /Gray News) — Nearly 1,600 pounds of methamphetamine were seized after being found hidden in shipments of blackberries in Georgia.
The FBI’s Atlanta office said 419 kilograms of methamphetamine were found in a shipment of blackberries in a refrigerated box truck outside a home in Atlanta.
Another 300 kilograms of methamphetamine were found in a refrigerated box truck outside a business in Hall County, Georgia.
The FBI said both shipments “are believed to have been brought into the United States from Mexico.”
Juan Hernandez, 40, and Nelsonen Sorto, 36, were charged with trafficking methamphetamine in connection with the Atlanta bust, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Gerardo Solorio-Alvarado, 44, was charged with the same in connection with the Hall Coun
