KENNESAW, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — With the abrupt resignation of Marjorie Taylor Greene from the U.S. House of Representatives, candidates scrambled to fill the vacancy in Georgia’s 14th district.
Several candidates had already entered what’s expected to be a wide field on both the Republican and Democratic sides. Others joined within days of her announcement.
On Monday night, a close connection of Greene’s joined the fray.
Jim Tully, the chairman of the 14th district GOP and one of Greene’s most senior field representatives, is a fierce ally to the outgoing congresswoman. He announced in an online post that he would be seeking to replace her in the upcoming special election.
