With weather conditions uncertain and businesses struggling , it’s shaping up to be an interesting ski season in Oregon.
Thanksgiving marks the unofficial start to ski season in Oregon, when some ski areas use snow makers to begin limited operations, as others wait patiently for enough snow to fall. Last year, several major ski resorts opened unusually early thanks to some heavy fall snow showers. This year, that hasn’t been the case.
With snow levels still low across the Cascade Mountains, most ski areas remain in a holding pattern as of Thanksgiving week. As skiers and snowboarders wait for winter weather to arrive, here’s what you need to know about the upcoming ski season in Oregon.
