The man killed in a Newark crash late Nov. 22 has been identified as 31-year-old Newark man Sergio Perez-Nova.

Newark police responded to a head-on crash involving a sedan and a SUV on Christina Parkway, where one of the cars was in a wooded area with trapped occupants, just after 10 p.m. on Nov. 22, Newark police said.

Newark police determined the SUV entered the oncoming lane, leading to the crash. The SUV driver, Perez-Nova, was taken to the hospital and later died.

The sedan occupants were trapped and needed to be removed from the vehicle, police said. They were transported to the hospital, where one was discharged and the other was in stable condition with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
