F or foster children and their Court Appointed Special Advocates, meeting in parks, coffee shops or parking lots is all too common.
Jenifer Page, a CASA volunteer, knows firsthand the challenges foster children face and how critical it is for them to have at least one consistent adult in their corner. But historically, finding appropriate places to meet has been a persistent obstacle for CASA volunteers and their charges.
Last week, in a packed building just off South Jones Boulevard, Page officially opened Nevada’s first CASA Connections Center, created to give Clark County foster youths and their court-appointed advocates a dedicated, welcoming place to meet.
