Syracuse, N.Y. — The 2025-26 boys hockey season is underway, and a familiar group of jerseys is at the front of the line in syracuse.com’s preseason poll.

Skaneateles, which has won three state Division II titles in a row, comes in at No. 1 in the rankings. West Genesee, which finished No. 1 in last season’s final poll, lands at No. 2.

The first poll of this season looks pretty much like the final one of 2024-25 — nine of the 10 teams are the same, with only Baldwinsville breaking into the group.

Once the season gets into full swing, hockey rankings will be revealed on Wednesdays until the end of sectionals.
