The National Weather Service released a lake effect snow warning at 12:37 p.m. on Wednesday valid from Friday 1 a.m. until Saturday 7 a.m. for Oneida, Onondaga and Madison counties.
The weather service states, “Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 7 and 15 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow.”
“Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact Thanksgiving holiday travel, especially on Friday,” explains the weather service. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
