SEATTLE — A Seattle holiday tradition has returned as KING 5's tower lights shine bright from Queen Anne.

The KING 5 tower lights did not go up in 2024 due to a tower repainting project. This year's lights display was delayed for a few days due to a technical issue, but is now on for all Seattleites to enjoy near or far.

Traditionally, the lights are turned on the day after Thanksgiving and remain lit through December.

The tradition of lighting the KING 5 tower began in 1953, the same year construction on the tower was complete.

Four strings of lights outline the tower legs with a fifth string of lights running up the middle of the tower.
