Netflix viewers have found a new true-crime obsession in The Widower which was originally released on ITV in 2014 and is now rising rapidly through the streaming giants top ten TV charts. The three part series has a stellar cast including Shetland star Archie Panjabi. ‌

The series revisits the chilling real case of Malcolm Webster, a seemingly quiet and caring nurse whose life was build on deception, manipulation and murder. The story focuses on Webster's crimes against the woman who trusted him the most. ‌

Webster killed his first wife, Claire Morris, in Scotland in 1994 by staging a car crash and later attempted to repeat the same horrific plan with his second wife, Felicity Drumm in New Zealand. His motive for killing was to cash in on life insurance
