GREENFIELD — An Orange man will spend up to a decade in state prison after pleading guilty to a series of violent attacks that included a machete and hammer, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Christopher Clayton, 35, entered guilty pleas Monday to multiple charges, including armed assault with intent to murder, mayhem, strangulation, three counts of witness intimidation, and two counts of violation of an abuse prevention order.
Franklin Superior Court Judge David M. Hodge handed down the 8-to-10-year sentence at the conclusion of the hearing in Greenfield.
The charges grew out of three separate incidents.
In July 2024, Clayton attacked a 29-year-old woman in Orange. He accosted the same woman and her 35-year-old male friend during two serious assaults in
