HOLYOKE ― A man was seriously injured in a stabbing Monday night, and police say a 36-year-old city resident is facing multiple charges for the crime.

Ismael Ocasio, 36, of Holyoke, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the stabbing. He faces charges of armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a Class B drug, Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan said in a statement Wednesday.

Keenan said officers went to 13 Cabot St. around 7:05 p.m. Monday after reports of the stabbing. They found the victim with injuries and took him to a local hospital.
