In his five years as head coach, Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea has already guided the Commodores to their first win over a No. 1-ranked team, to their first bowl victory in over a decade, and to a school record-tying nine regular season wins.

One thing Lea has not yet accomplished — either as a Vandy coach or player — is beating Tennessee.

What better time to change that than Saturday, when the No. 12 Commodores (9-2, 5-2) travel to Knoxville for a 2:30 CT game (ESPN) against the No. 18 Vols (8-3, 4-3) in the last regular season game for both?

“We need to win to feel like we’re doing our part of the rivalry,” Lea said of a competition that stands 81-32-5 in favor of the Vols.
