A Connecticut man is accused of crashing into a Connecticut State Trooper's vehicle while intoxicated earlier this week, authorities said.

Eric Essuman, 54, faces multiple charges linked to the Monday, Nov. 24, crash on I-84 in Manchester, State Police said.

Authorities allege that Essuman crashed into the back of a state trooper's cruiser near the I-384 on-ramp in the westbound lanes just before 5 p.m. Essuman was not hurt, but the officer was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries. Doctors treated and released him.

Troopers who responded to the crash noted that Essuman appeared intoxicated, State Police said, and he failed a field sobriety test, leading to his arrest.

Essuman, of Manchester, is charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and several traffic violations, police said.

He was released on a $10,000 bond, according to officials.  He'll return to court on Dec. 16.
