REDDING, CT. (WFSB) - A Metro-North train collided with a car in Redding Tuesday evening.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said that at around 7:10 p.m., the train was traveling north of Branchville Station when it struck the vehicle, which was unoccupied.
The train was scheduled to go from Grand Central Terminal to Danbury.
Around 175 passengers were on the train when the crash happened. No injuries were reported to passengers or crew.
No criminality is suspected.
The passengers were detrained at Branchville Station and provided with alternate bus service to complete the trip.
Danbury Branch trains are currently running with residual delays.
An investigation is active.
