MERIDEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Two people walked into a hospital late Tuesday with gunshot wounds following an incident on I-691 East in Meriden, police said.

Police responded to the eastbound side of I-691 near exits 2B and 3 around 11:30 p.m.

Both individuals suffered injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to authorities.

Police have not released information on what led to the shooting or whether any suspects are involved.

Investigators said the case remains active and ongoing.
