OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (WMC) - The man shot by sheriff’s deputies on Monday in DeSoto County is now free from jail on bond.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation identified the man as Adam Willingham.

Willingham was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and simple assault-domestic violence.

He is free on a $7,000 bond.

The shooting happened around 8:15 p.m. on Miller Farms Road in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Investigators say Willingham pointed a gun at deputies, who opened fire.

He surrendered to police shortly after and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
