CORNWALL – Cornwall’s defense has been a force all season, allowing just 9.9 points per game.
Leading the way for the Green Dragons is its defensive line, which has controlled the line of scrimmage with its size and athleticism. The group consists of defensive ends Jayden Scott and Quadir Turlock, defensive tackles Ryan Nunez-Gomez and Jaziah Maisonet, and defensive end/linebacker Zion Felix.
Cornwall (9-2) has held seven opponents under seven points this year with three shutouts. However, the Green Dragons’ defense will face their toughest challenge on Friday when it takes on offensive juggernaut Rye (12-0) in the semifinals of the Class A state playoffs at 6 p.m. at Middletown High.
