GREENBRIER, Tenn. (WSMV) - A daycare working in Greenbrier is facing felony charges after she was accused of striking a 1-year-old in the face twice, according to Smokey Barn News (SBN).

SBN reports that Tristar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield notified the Greenbrier Police Department (GPD) on Tuesday of a 1-year-old that had been brought into the emergency room with facial injuries.

The child reportedly had significant bruising and discoloration on one side of his face and lesser bruising on the other side.

Officers immediately began investigating.

Detective Joseph Chelini with GPD told SBN the investigation into the child’s injuries led him to a daycare facility at Calvary Baptist Church.
