BREWER, Maine — A longtime holiday commitment rolled into the Brewer Area Food Pantry this week as Nickerson & O’Day delivered approximately 1,393 pounds of food to support families facing food insecurity.
What began as a small gesture 13 years ago — a food drive organized after the company completed renovation work on the pantry — has grown into an annual effort that now fills trucks with nonperishables, holiday staples, and household essentials.
"We're delivering all these goodies down here to hopefully put some smiles on people's faces," Nickerson & O'Day Warehouse Manager Paul Fichtner said.
