More than 60 law enforcement agencies will be working over the next month on an Arizona-wide effort to reduce impaired driving.

The Governor’s Office of Highways Safety recently announced this year’s program of increased enforcement that begins on Thanksgiving Day and runs through Dec. 31.

Arizona officials provided numbers that cover Thanksgiving weekends over the last three years.

They show the number of total DUI arrests has gone down from 2022 to 2024: 323-306-263.

And officials want the trend to continue, advising those who do imbibe to designate a sober driver or rely on taxis or rideshares, according to a release.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has not scheduled any planned closures through early Monday morning.
