A local business Wednesday invited the public to a ceremony that will celebrate a project that has combined art and history along a new section of the Pufferbelly Trail.
Overhead Door Co. has added a work of art along its fence that faces about a 200-foot section of the trail.
“The Pufferbelly Trail runs right behind our business, so we decided to beautify the fenced area facing the trail with a creative display of banner sections that tell a story at the same time,” Cassie Harren, regional manager of Overhead Door, said in a statement.
The banners will inform trail users about the railroad that connected Fort Wayne and Jackson, Michigan, from 1879 to 1976, a news release said. More than $16,000 was invested in the artwork, Eric Johnson, public relations coordinator, said in an email.
