ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) - The Nash County Sheriff’s Office says a caregiver at a Rocky Mount group home is behind bars on charges of selling drugs from the facility.
The sheriff’s office says its investigation began after complaints from residents about drugs being distributed from 910 Nashville Road in Rocky Mount.
The sheriff’s office says that the location was being used as a group home where three patients suffering from cognitive disabilities live.
Authorities say they arrested 40-year-old Danny Lawrence, who was employed as a caregiver, and charged him with ten offenses, including trafficking cocaine and patient abuse and neglect.
The sheriff’s office says a search of the residence turned up 472 grams of cocaine as well as marijuana.
Lawrence is in custody at Nash County Detent
