NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Nash County corrections officer is facing charges after deputies say she tried to smuggle drugs to a prison inmate.
Deputies say they responded around 11 a.m. today to a report from a Nash Correctional Institute employee about a corrections officer attempting to smuggle contraband inside.
They then searched 37-year-old Shanese Sanders’ car, seizing around 3.5 ounces of K2, a synthetic cannabinoid, and 0.7 ounces of Suboxone wrapped in plastic.
The Enfield woman was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver a synthetic cannabinoid, one count of conspiracy to deliver a synthetic cannabinoid, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule-III controlled substance, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance on p
