DALLAS, Texas — Holiday travel usually comes with familiar scenes: crowded terminals, long TSA lines and the rush to get home. It’s a story told every year.

But at Dallas Love Field, we set out to ask a different question: What are you thankful for?

And traveler after traveler had an answer.

It started with a simple prompt written on a whiteboard. A woman walking through the terminal read it aloud: “Why am I so thankful?”

For many, the answer came easily.

One woman shared that she had just completed multiple surgeries after battling cancer.

“I’m a cancer survivor… and I couldn’t have done it without my mom or my girls.”

Another traveler said his gratitude begins and ends with family.

“My family, my wife, my children. Family’s the most important thing, and I love them with all my
