PHOENIX (KVOA) - A major border-security operation has protected Southern Arizona's public lands, ensuring the safety of communities, visitors and vital natural resources, according to a news release. This effort underscores a commitment to both border security and environmental stewardship.
The Department of the Interior announced that this operation, led by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), was part of the ongoing Operation Securing America’s Border Resources. BLM rangers, along with the U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Border Patrol, conducted patrols across the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, Coronado National Forest and the Sonoran Desert National Monument from Oct. 31 through Nov. 9.
