OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WFSB) - A motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle crash that closed Schoolhouse Road early Thursday morning, according to police.

Authorities received a report of the motorcycle accident at 1:21 a.m.

The motorcyclist suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash and died, police said.

The identity of the driver has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Schoolhouse Road is expected to remain closed between Day Drive and Cinnamon Ridge while police continue their investigation.
