Scottish Power told a customer he owed £1.4k for ONE month’s energy after a smart meter went dumb. Nigel Morris, 58, from Shropshire, was horrified when a bill from Scottish Power landed on his doormat last month saying he owed £1,407.
Nigel said: “It was such a shock. I’ve never been in arrears and I’ve always paid on time. It really impacted my mood and left me feeling unwell.”
He explains: “I used to ring Scottish Power at the end of every month and give them my meter reading. But I couldn’t read one of my meters because it was too high up. I have a blue badge because of problems with my knees and I just couldn’t reach the meter.”
