Departing NHS Fife chief executive Carol Potter will not receive any form of pay-off or severance package when she steps down next summer, the health board has confirmed.

Ms Potter, who announced earlier this month she was taking early retirement from her £145,000-a-year role, will leave on standard NHS Scotland terms and is entitled only to her normal monthly salary until her departure.

The clarification from the health board follows questions over whether Ms Potter’s departure would trigger any additional payments, particularly given the timing, coming shortly before the expected judgment in the high-profile Sandie Peggie employment tribunal.
