London’s got a big birthday coming up.

City hall is gearing up with a campaign of events celebrating 2026 as the 200th anniversary of the community’s founding – a bicentennial bash that will kick off with the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Victoria Park.

“We’re building off existing initiatives that we’ve done, and just wanting to have a community-wide celebration,” said Robin Armistead, city hall’s manager of cultural services.

Some of the events that will trumpet the 200th birthday are the Eldon House Levee on New Year’s Day, trivia night at Museum London on Jan. 29, and a heritage fair at the London Public Library on Feb. 21.
