Four more people are facing charges after police seized smoke bombs, notes on police tactics and property damage plans stemming from an investigation into a protest outside London’s convention centre against a defence industry conference.
Officers responded around 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 21 to reports of an active protest at RBC Place London, where demonstrators blocked the entrance, barricaded a parking garage with construction materials and threw paint at staff, police said.
The protest involved nearly 100 demonstrators and dozens of police officers, including members of the public order unit, which monitors demonstrations and large gatherings. Damage to the building was estimated at $32,000.
On Tuesday, warrants were executed at four residences in London, Hamilton, Marmora and Owen Sound,
