MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - The Maple Heights Fire Department responded to a heavy house fire Monday evening.

The fire department said the report was for the 15800 block of Friend Avenue.

When crews arrived to the scene, they found a heavy fire in the first-floor living room that was intensified by strong winds moving through the area.

The Bedford Fire Department assisted the scene and said wind gusts were up to 40 mph.

BFD said this fire was an example of how quickly ventilation can change the conditions in an instant.

According to MHFD, all occupants of the home were able to exit safely but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
