A man accused of murder has appeared at court after the body of a 23-year-old was found in a North East home.
Emergency services were called to an address on Allerton Close in Hartlepool on Sunday where the body of Mohammed Shaan Ali Rasul, who was also known as Shaan, was discovered.
Callum Howe, 22, was arrested in connection with the death and later charged with murder.
Howe, of Blakelock Gardens, Hartlepool, appeared at Teesside Crown Court via link from HMP Holme House where he was not required to enter a plea.
He will return to the court for a further hearing on Friday, December 12.
Judge Francis Laird KC, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, set a provisional trial date for May 26 next year.
The family of Shaan previously paid tribute to him.
