Boston — For the first time in 29 days, the Detroit Pistons' locker room was silent. There was no music, no passing of the belt and players didn't even share jokes. The somber mood inside TD Garden's visiting locker room stemmed from the Pistons' 117-114 loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

The loss put their hopes of an Emirates NBA Cup championship in jeopardy, but more importantly, it marked the end of the Pistons' franchise record-tying 13-game winning streak. The Pistons pondered several missed opportunities. But by the time the team left the arena, they were ready to move on and build upon their early-season success and a 15-3 record.
