Prosecutors have asked for the sentence of Eric Sweeney in the killing of his sister-in-law and his two young nephews inside their Northfield home in 2022 to be reviewed.

In October, Merrimack County Superior Court Judge John Kissinger sentenced Sweeney, 19, to three sentences of 60 years to life that will run concurrently, with six years suspended for meeting certain educational benchmarks. He’ll be eligible for parole in his 70s.

Sweeney pleaded guilty in August on second-degree murder charges in the shooting deaths of Kassandra Sweeney, 25, and her children, Benjamin, 4, and Mason, 1. He was 16 at the time, with his brother, Sean, and Kassandra, being his legal guardians.
