Drought conditions persist across much of the state, but local Christmas tree farm owners say that despite losing some of their young, newly planted trees to the elements, they’ve got plenty of big ones waiting to find a home for the holidays.

With many farms opening for the season following a bone-dry summer, some customers may be wondering if they’ll still be able to find the perfect tree.

The answer, farmers say, is yes. As it turns out, the endless rainy weekends that created so much misery during the spring proved beneficial for some of the mature Christmas trees now being harvested.
