At least 75 people are reported to have died and nearly 300 are missing as a result of the fire at a residential tower block complex in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is to hold its next race meeting behind closed doors out of respect to the victims of a tower block fire . At least 75 people have perished, with another 76 injured and nearly 300 are missing after a huge blaze engulfed seven blocks of a high-rise public housing complex in Tai Po, near the border with mainland China, on Wednesday.

The block where the fire broke out was home to 4,600 residents and had been undergoing renovation for the past year. Police have arrested three people on suspicion of manslaughter.
