ALAMOGORDO, N.M. —
Law enforcement has confirmed two people are dead following a search for a possible missing plane near Alamogordo.
According to the Alamogordo Police Department, officers were called after a caller had concerns a family member had not returned from a plane flight from the Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Alamogordo City Manager Stephanie Hernandez said the pilot arrived at the airport around 8 a.m. Wednesday. Local pilots reported seeing the plane leave the airport around 11:30 a.m.
This led to family remembers going to the airport and telling staff their family members had not returned from a flight for sightseeing, according to Hernandez. Airport staff then contacted police, the Tularosa Basin Regional Dispatch Authority and the Alamog
